Slinky Had Relatives?

Used by permission In 1897, 4 year old Will Wood had a 'pet' horny toad that he named Slinky. While other boys his age had a dog, Will was different. Will's Dad, Ernest E. Wood was a county clerk and he had a strange observation about reptiles surviving in hibernation for many years. During this year Ernest 'borrowed' Will's 'pet' horny toad and proceeded to place Slinky in the new cornerstone of the local County Courthouse along with other time capsule memorabilia.

Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Raffle and New Parish Hall

You may have noticed all the dirt work at the corner of 11th Street and Avenue F in Cisco and wondered what was happening. Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church is expanding and building a new, larger, and wonderful Parish Hall/Activity Center! While we love our familiar and comfortable Parish Hall that we have used for the past 100 years, it is now time to expand and improve. To help with expenses, our Parish is having a raffle with seven great prizes, including an Iceland 45-Quart Cooler filled with 20 pounds of grass-fed Angus ground beef, a Moultrie Deer Feeder Gravity Combo (donated by Higginbotham Brothers), $500 cash, an Emeril Lagasse Power Air Fryer 360 Plus, a Christmas quilt (pieced by Dianne Meyer), a $100 Brookshire’s Gift Card, and a $90 Mane Street Salon Gift Card (with stylist Donna). Tickets to win these fabulous prizes are $5.00 each. We will be selling raffle tickets at our booth during the Cisco TX Pie Fest and during our Magi’s Bazaar on November 5th. The drawing will be held on December 8th, and our own Father Vijaya will draw the winning numbers. Make sure that you purchase your raffle tickets and are entered for a chance to win – and thank you and bless you for your support!
