When Cisco Mayor Tammy Douglas was asked about FR Richard Neuhaus and his connection to Cisco, she replied, “I've never heard of him.” Mayor Douglas asked Duane Hale, and he said, “I've never heard of him, but I know someone who will probably know about his early connection to the Lutheran Church in Cisco, ie Becky Odom.” Although Becky Odom had some information, she was naturally hesitant to say much until she checked out FR Dana's veracity. I had learned that FR Richard Neuhaus was FR Dana's mentor. I also learned from Becky Odom that he was an intellectual and had written several books, and also that when he was 14 years old he helped run a service station south of Cisco about 8 miles south on Hwy 183.
