A Name Above All Names!

A Name Above All Names!

On this particular spring day of my 8 grade year in the mid 1980’s, I was sitting in Mr. Schaefer’s math class. Some of my friends dared me to call him by his first name (which was a no, no), so I mustered my courage and called out “Hey Delburt (his first name)”. I knew by the look on my teachers face that I was in trouble. I was instructed to go to the hallway where I received my appropriate punishment –swats.

Eastland Co. Retired Teachers Association Hosting an online Auction to Raise monies for County Scholarships

The Eastland County Retired Teachers Association is hosting an online auction of items for the public to bid on to help raise money for Eastland County Seniors who will be graduating and attending either Ranger or Cisco College in the Fall of 2021. Seniors will apply for this scholarship at their designated school through their school council office and will be awarded to one lucky senior from each district, Cisco, Eastland, Ranger, Rising Star and Gorman. Due to COVID restrictions, the ECRTA is having to find new ways to raise money and still follow guidelines for COVID. If you would like to place a bid on an item, please go to FACEBOOK and search for Eastland County Retired Teachers Association or come by the Cisco Conrad Hilton Center, located at 309 Conrad Hilton Blvd. to look at the items and place a bid. The Conrad Hilton is open from 9-4, M-F, closed for lunch. You can also donate money to this cause and send a check payable to Eastland County Retired Teachers Association, c/o Tammy Douglas, 500 Avenue L, Cisco, TX 76437.
