Ray Gage Obituary
Ray Gage, 85, of Victoria passed away Monday, December 4, 2017.
He was born April 17, 1932, in Eastland County, Texas to the late Aaron and Nell Morrison Gage. He graduated from Cisco High School in 1949. He began his career with the MKT Railroad and finished his working years with E.I. DuPont in Victoria where he was employed for twenty-seven years. He married his true love, Lorene Cumba Gage on January 18, 1951. They were married almost 66 years. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2016. He was devoted to his family and dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed travelling with his wife and friends and restoring cars.
Survivors include daughters Paula Leske (Bill) of Victoria,Texas, Pam Floyd (Sherman) of Rising Star, Texas, and Melissa Cline (Tim) of Lucas, Texas; grandchildren Joshua Leske (Michelle), Aaron Floyd (Elizabeth), Katie Carter and Megan Cline; great-grandchildren Aubrey, Charlotte and Morgan Leske, Reese and Ryan Floyd, and Leah and Allie Carter; sisters-in-law Patsy Beene and Janie Elam, both of Early, Texas and Charlene Cumba of Victoria, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.
Ray was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Gage.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10:30 am at Longbranch Cemetery in Eastland County with Pastor Mike Branch officiating.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Leske, Aaron Floyd, Randy Beene, Billy Wayne Cumba, Brian Elam, Lloyd Earl Sansom, Glenn Cumba, and Ronald Grigsby.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Senior Helpers (especially to Rita Salazar, Brandi Brawner, Anna Mennuti, Elvira Williams, and Elah Moore), Hospice of South Texas and Dr. Armando Diaz and his wife Connie for their care of Dad.
