James Dee Horn

EASTLAND-James Dee Horn, 86, passed from this life to the next on Thursday, May 14, 2020.

A funeral service was held on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at 2PM at the Leon River Cowboy Church. Interment followed in the Eastland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Eastland.

James Dee Horn was born on July 10, 1933 near Lubbock to Jessie Truman and Lora (Williamson) Horn. He married Ruth Justice in 1953 in Eastland. He retired from Ensearch having held the position of V.P. of right of way and claims. He then did independent land man work. Mr. Horn attended Leon River Cowboy Church,- had been a Boy Scout Master, member of the Eastland Historical Society, Kiwanis Club, and the Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth; sons, James Dean Horn and Paul David Horn; daughter, Valori Gay Horn; brothers, J.T. Horn, Marcus Horn, and William W. Horn; sisters, Margaret Olsen and Eloise Justice; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bill Michael Horn; and sisters, Athlee, Bonnie, and Jane.
