Mary Ann Garrett Perkins

Mary Ann (Garrett) Perkins, 85, a lifelong resident of Eastland, TX, passed from this life into her heavenly home on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, after a lengthy illness of Diabetes.

Mary Ann is survived by her son, Marty Perkins; her daughter, Lisa Perkins; her grandchildren, Samuel, Hannah and Aaron Perkins, her sister-in-law, Glenda Garrett; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents, John H. and S. Merle Garrett; her brother John G. Garrett; her son, Leslie "Bo" Perkins; and a nephew, Grandal Garrett.

Mary Ann was born in Eastland, Texas on April 1, 1935 to John H. and S. Merle (Hilburn) Garrett. She attended Eastland Schools, graduating from Eastland High School in 1953. Even though she worked several jobs through the years, her fondest memories were of her years as a Southwestern Bell telephone operator. We often joked with her about her special "telephone voice".

Mary Ann was a devoted mother and grandmother, often referred to as Mom and MawMaw by not only her family, but by her friends and her children's friends. She believed wholeheartedly those were the roles that God had planned for her life.

She is loved and will be truly missed by her family and friends.

Final arrangements are being handled by Edwards Funeral Homes. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
