Minnie Doraline Hudson Larkin

Minnie Doraline (Hudson) Larkin, 84, of Rising Star passed away Friday, April 3, 2020. A private family graveside will be held with a Memorial Service at a later date.

Minnie was born December 13, 1935 in Harriet, Texas to John Franklin Jr. and Myrtle Gracie Hudson. She graduated from Rising Star ISD and attended nursing school at Howard College where she became a LVN. She married Ollie Lee Larkin on April 27, 1962 and began a life together that blessed them with 10 children. Minnie was a LVN for 28 years. She put her whole heart into caring for people. Minnie battled and survived Polio at a very early age and at midlife survived cancer. Minnie loved to spend time gardening, fishing, quilting, transplanting flowers, roses and doing crochet. Her favorite pass time was listening to music. She loved cooking and spending time with her kids and grandkids. Minnie loved to take time to show and teach her grandchildren every activity she loved. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Minnie is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Ollie Larkin of Rising Star; sons, Roy J Larkin and John Franklin Larkin of Rising Star, Tommy and wife Doris Larkin of Pioneer, Arthur and wife Carol Larkin of Blanket; daughters, Linda and husband Arnold Roitsch of Rising Star, Nancy and husband CR McQueen of Eastland; Myrtle Gracie and husband Charles Childers of Cross Plains; daughter-in-law, Yvonne Waters of Waco; son-in-law, Steve Summers of New Mexico; grandchildren, Tiffany, Misty, Brittany, Dorthy, James, Ethan, Micheal, Matthew, Chrystal, Jennifer, Charlene, Fredrick, Courtney, Brandon, Stephanie, Adam & Shannon; 16 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.

Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Paul Waters; daughters, Susan Summers & Mary Ann Larkin; brothers, Johnny Zimmerman, Lee Roy Hudson, Franklin Hudson and Samuel Mixson; sister, Pauline Hudson.
