Velma Lillie Fern Williamson Patton

Eastland-Velma Lillie Fern Williamson Patton, known as “Lillie” 95, went to her heavenly home to be with her husband, Eugene Isaac Patton on Friday, May 15, 2020. She had lived in their residence for 51 years. Before living there, she resided in Duncanville, Texas for 6 years. She also lived for a year in Oak Cliff before moving to Duncanville. Lille was born on April 7, 1925 in Eastland, and grew up in Morton Valley.

Lillie had a 5th grade education. She had to stay home and help with raising her siblings. She was one of thirteen children belonging to Bonnie Law Williamson and Nola Jane Barksdale Williamson.

Lillie worked for the Vassarette in Dallas and Eastland. She was a seamstress and inspector for 10+ years. She also worked as a cook/baker for Brookshire’s in Eastland and Cisco, and at Super Duper. Lillie was an awesome cook.

Loving children, she adopted a child to have one of her own. She raised a niece and helped take care of nephews, which all refer to her as a mother figure in their lives. Lillie was a proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and she also took pride in being an aunt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Voyner Williamson, Coleman Wiliamson, Bonnie Williamson, SL Williamson, Malcom Williamson, and Joe Williamson; sisters, Virgie Johnson, Willie Mae Hudman, Clara Patterson, and Shirley Notgrass.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Haller; niece that was like a daughter to her, Pam Smith; brother, Dub Williamson; sister, Syble Hamrick; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

Lillie was a special woman to her brothers, ter, nieces, nephews, sisters, parents, daugh-grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren. We will all miss her abundantly.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 10AM at the Eastland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home, 411 S. Mulberry, Eastland on Friday, May 22, 2020 from 6-8 pm.
