Mildred Jean Cole Shelton

RANGER – Mildred Jean Cole Shelton, age 90, went home to Heaven and the arms of her husband and son.

Services were held at 1 pm Monday, January 21, 2019 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo, Texas. Family and friends gathered from 5-7:00 pm Sunday, January 20 at Edwards Funeral Home, 211 Pine Street, Ranger, TX.

Mildred was born February 9, 1928 in Strawn, TX to Edward Leonard and Lula Pearl Sandlin Cole and grew up in the Strawn area. On May 9th, 1945 she married Harrold Luther “Jack” Shelton and spent the next 66 years by his side until his death in 2012. Mildred was a bookkeeper and loved working with people. She was a member of the Eastern Star and a Baptist. She was a very well put together lady, always looking her best.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jack, her only child, a son, Jack Cole Shelton who passed away 1994. Mildred was the youngest of 13 children who have all preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a beloved niece Kay Scibek.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends.
