Fish Fry Benefit For Clarks Sunday, April 30th
A community-wide benefit luncheon will take place in the FBC Gym for Randy and Christy Clark
on Sunday, April 30.
We will begin serving lunch at 11am and conclude around 1 pm.
The lunch will be be a suggested donation of $10.00 and the lunch will include fried catfish,
hushpuppies, coleslaw, beans, and dessert.
To better informed with the Clark’s situation, we’ve provided a timeline for you and would covet
your prayers for this precious family.
On August 16, 2015 Christy experienced her first seizure while attending church. A CAT Scan at
Henderick Medical Center revealed
that she had a brain tumor and they immediately referred her on to UT Southwestern in Dallas.
Christy had brain surgery August 26, 2015
to remove as much of the tumor as possible. She was then diagnosed with Anaplastic Astrocytoma Stage 3
brain cancer. After surgery,
Christy’s physicians put her on a low dose of chemo while doing radiation therapy for 42 consecutive days.
Ever since she completed her
last round of radiation, November 2015, she has been on a monthly regiment of a high dose chemo treatment.
On August 2016, a new spot
appeared by MRI, which is now gone, then another spot the following December. The last spot that
appeared has doubled in size as of March 2017.
Christy’s medical team has decided that the chemo treatment is not giving them the results they want and
believe that the next best step is to be
enrolled in a clinical trial. This is a new trial being researched through UT Southwestern and presents itself
to be very hopeful. We encourage you
to be praying for this family, as well as make plans to attend the fish fry benefit lunch on Sunday April 30.
Thank you in advance and your
contributions can be made to FBC Eastland in order to help the family with immediate medical expenses.
