Texas Rural Health System Gets NoticedFor Its Infusion Treatment Program Intervention Shows Improvements in Chronic Conditions

Comanche County Medical Center (CCMC), a nonprofit hospital and rural health organization based in Comanche, Texas, has an innovative diabetes infusion program that is getting a lot of attention. The Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals (TORCH) statewide conference April 19-21 will feature the program. Led by CEO Larry Troxell, DHA, and clinical director Dwayne C. Miller, MD, the physician-prescribed treatment, which started up last summer at CCMC, is seeing patients from all corners of Texas. The hospital is the only one of its kind in the U.S. offering the infusion, which goes by the commercial name Diabetes ReliefTM.

A West Texas Memory Lane

How do YOU travel down Memory Lane? Do you drive down a dusty, caliche road, or a paved street? Do you go running through the pastures and fields or maybe walk in the quiet lanes of a country cemetery almost forgotten? Maybe you do all of these things. I did!! This weekend my cousin Zena and I decided to travel down memory lane together. We laughed, we cried, we talked and talked and talked. Not only did we travel down memory lane, but we also made memories. Cherished memories. Join us as we remember: our heritage.

Thank You

On behalf of the Garces and Newton families, we wish to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude for all of your prayers, thoughts and words of encouragement during this trying time. For the friends and family who attended the funeral, your presence was a gift that words cannot describe. From the luncheon provided by the Holy Rosary Alter Society and friends who provided extra food; to the beautiful flowers, Father VJ and the choir providing a lovely Mass. The many phone calls, visits, cards and messages have been so welcomed. To Brad Kimbrough Funeral Home thank you for the personal and professional service. Our hearts are touched by you and your relationships only make our lives richer. Thank you!
