The City of Eastland is currently seeking persons interested in serving on city appointed boards that help make vital decisions for the city’s growth and future. As board vacancies arise, each Board will review their applications and submit a list of applicants to the City Commission for appointment. When multiple applications are received the remaining applications will go on file for future appointments. Each board has their own member guidelines concerning who may serve:

The City of Eastland, through their contracted solid waste disposal company Waste Connections, offers free bagged leaf pick-ups twice monthly to residential customers in Eastland. The pick-ups are each 2nd and 4th Friday beginning December 10, 2021 through March 25, 2022. Residents must call City Hall at 629-8321 at least 24 hours in advance to be placed on the pickup list. Bagged leaves should not be placed curbside more than 48 hours in advance of the pick-up date to remain in compliance with City Ordinances Article III, Section 9-19 and 9-21.

Texas voters in Tuesday’s election overwhelmingly favored eight changes to the state constitution — including two amendments related to the coronavirus pandemic. One of the amendments would prohibit governmental entities from enacting any rule limiting religious services. The other would allow nursing home residents to designate an essential caregiver who could not be denied in-person visitation.
