County takes First Step to establish Criteria for Redistricting Burn Ban reinstated

County Commissioners began the first step towards redistricting of political boundaries inside Eastland County at Monday’s regular meeting by adopting an Order “Establishing Criteria for Redistricting of Political Boundaries Related to Census 2020”. This is an important step to stay in compliance with the Department of Justice and the election process, County Judge Rex Fields explained. The process has four different steps. Judge Fields added, however, that the county will not have numbers and data until October to establish if redistricting will be necessary for Eastland County. If it is not, the redistricting process can be stopped, he said.
