Kenneth Preston Good age 80, of Gorman, Tx. passed away August 1, 2018.
Services will be Tuesday, August 7, 2018, 10:00 A.M., in the First Baptist Church of Gorman. Family visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, August 6, 2018 at Higginbotham Funeral Home Gorman.
He was born September 29, 1937 in Old Glory, TX to Cliff Good and Mildred Carr Good. He graduated from Hardin Simmons University with a degree in Chemistry and Math. He taught school and coached 11 man and 6 man football at various school in the area, retiring from Rising Star ISD in 2000 from ill health. He was a 38th degree Mason, attending the Rising Star, Sipe Springs, and Gorman lodges. Serving as Master of each lodge over the years. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Gorman serving as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, R.A. Leader, and Sunday School Superintendent. He married Shirley Thompson August 23, 1958 in the First Baptist Church of Lawn, TX.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Good of Gorman of almost 60 years; 2 sons , David Good and wife Holly of Forney, Ken Good and wife Terri of Bullard; 2 daughters, Carla Strasner of Granbury, Darla Good and husband Rick Ferrell of Tuscola; sister, Cliffa Vaughn of Gorman. Daughters of the Heart Sharlene and husband Barry Schahn, Jacque Horne Derksen of Austrailia. Four grandsons, Wesley Fuller, Kevin Fuller, Brett Good, and Christopher Good; six granddaughters, Andrea Wood, Jamie Jackson, Helen Ferrell, Abbey Good, Darby Good, and Laurel Good; and seven great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cliff and Mildred Good, sister in law Mary Sawyer, brother in law Bill Vaughn.
