Gorman Progress
FROM THE MAYOR
I must begin this article with some corrections. In a previous article I mention one of our businesses and called it Rocking R. I was wrong. It is the Rockin H General Store and is owned by Olin and Shawndelle Harrington. I wish I could blame it on the R key being next to the H but I can’t. It must have been a senior moment. I use that excuse on many things now days! I also need to give credit to the right people with regard to people helping during the Peanut Festival. It was Mark Wilkerson that drove the pickup loaded with the Commissioners in the parade and it was Jeanene Roemisch and Billy Don Simpson who hung the light in the park. Other folks that deserve a big thank you for their part in the festival are Audrey Johnston, Julie Clark, and Jessica Maupin. There are many others I have failed to mention, but I am thankful to all of you! The festival was a great success! I especially want to thank our city maintenance crew for cleaning up the mess that was left!

Panthers roll past Gustine, 65-16
Dimitri Brandeburg rushed for two touchdowns and threw another on Friday and helped carry the Gorman Panthers to a resounding 65-16 victory over the Gustine Tigers in non-district six-man football action. As a team, Gorman rolled up 393 yards in a game that was halted at the half due to the 45-point mercy rule. With the win, Gorman improved to 3-1 heading into this week’s home game against Perrin-Whitt.
