Gorman Progress

FROM THE MAYOR

I normally write one article a month, but wanted to share a few things with you. Right now we are in the middle of a runoff election for our Place Three Commissioner. Early voting ended last Saturday. May 29th is voting day. If you are a registered voter and you didn’t vote early, please vote on May 29th at the Community Center at 118 South Kent Street. This is your town and both of the individuals running care about our town and want to serve. Please respect them both by showing up at the polls. Thank you!

Notice of Meeting

Notice is hereby given that the Gorman City Commission will meet in Regular Session at 5:15 p.m. in the Gorman Community Center Meeting Room at 118 S. Kent St. Gorman, on May 20, 2021 to consider the following agenda items:

FROM THE MAYOR

Our May 6th meeting opened as usual with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance to the US Flag and the Texas Flag, all Commissioners present. We had several guests but only one signed up to address the Commission. Laura Isbell, who was recently running for a position on the Commission, informed the Commission she was meeting with the Mayor on Monday, May 10 at 5:15pm to discuss governance issues, about which she claims to be an expert, and other things she believes the City should be doing regarding transparency and accountability. Her concerns could not be discussed since she was not on the agenda. I will let you know how it goes.
