The Ranger Bulldogs went into their showdown with Zephyr on Friday night the healthiest they have been since the start of the 2021 season. And it showed.
If the gave Ws for moral victories, the Ranger High School Bulldogs might have packeted one for a gutsy effort Friday against the Newcastle Bobcats. As it was, Newcastle survived a scare in front of a small crowd at O.C. Warden Stadium and escaped with a 68-22 decision. With the win, Newcastle ran its season record to 3-1. Ranger fell to 1-4 heading into Thursday’s cross-country showdown with Rising Star.
