Cisco Writers Club members and friends met on the first Thursday of November for an early Thanksgiving meal. After a feast of smoked chicken, cream potatoes, fancy salad, and the obligatory green beans and carrots, an array of desserts begged for attention -- and got it.

Ranger Lions Club President Gaylyn Mendoza stands with Lions Jo Ann Greenwood (far left) and Meagan Hallmark during last Thursday’s meeting on the campus of Ranger College. Greenwood and Hallmark, along with Ranger City Manager Gerald Gunstanson, were among several Lions to address the club on their paths to membership during the meeting. The Ranger Lions Club meets every Thursday in the new RC cafeteria. Members of the public are invited to attend and join the service organization.
Ranger College Vice President of Accreditation Debbie Karl is one of the main individuals when it comes when it comes to answering questions for the Southern Association of and Schools Commission on Colleges’ questions.
Mr. Mark Back is recognized as our Faculty/Staff member of the Month for October. Growing up, he was very active in high school playing baseball, football and wrestling and even went to Purdue University to play baseball. Mr. Back has an extensive background in law enforcement with specializations in K-9, marksmanship and rescue diving winning national awards for his skills. He also has 12 years of experience coaching high school wrestling as well as baseball and football. He taught computer applications in middle school for a year and has been teaching marksmanship skills since the early 1990’s. After retiring from law enforcement, Mr. Back graduated from Clear Creek Baptist Bible College and attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and currently has pastoral duties in addition to school. Mr. Back is the MS/HS Learning Lab interventionist and currently building the Ranger Bulldog Archery Program. He looks forward to the academic and competitive success of his student archers. Mr. Back has a heart for service and has been a great asset to Ranger ISD! In his spare time, he loves to read, fish, and anything marksmanship related.
