The current 1.5 mile stretch of US 183 within the Rising Star city limits (shown above) will be transformed into widened and reconstructed pavement with the final roadway having two travel lanes (one in each direction), along with shoulders, curb and gutter and sidewalks. The intersection of US 183 and SH 36 will see an improvement of larger turning radii on the east side of the intersection to accommodate turning of large commercial truck traffic. (TxDOT Photos)

Lawrence Recognized for Service on RSISD Board

A RSHS graduate, Howard Lawrence began his tenure as trustee of the Rising Star School board in 1995. He served a total of twenty five years, with much of that time as the board president. Mr. Lawrence could be heard at home football games this season. He is also active in the First Baptist Church as well as Rising Star Livestock Raisers’ Association and various other community service activities. The district wishes to thank Mr. Lawrence for serving on the RSISD board from 1995-2020.
