Renee Alexander admits to not liking to have to change jobs. In fact, she hated the idea of having to find a new position so much that when she found out the owners of the Ranger Care Center were looking to retire after more than 40 years in the business, she decided to take extreme measures.

She bought her job. A native of Cross Plains, Alexander purchased the Ranger Care Center, as well as the Merkel Nursing Center, from Jessie and Stormy Jones last month almost 20 years after being hired by the Abilene couple as an administrator in training.
