The win marked the seventh time this season the Lady Panthers have defeated a program from a Class 2A or higher program. Stamford, which is coached by former Strawn mentor Joe Crabb, got off to a fast start. The Lady Bulldogs posted a 12-9 run in the first eight minutes of the contest.

Hadli Hampton legged out a top 20 finish last week and helped spur the Gorman Lady Panthers to sixth at the Brock Invitational. Hampton completed the 2-mile race in 15th place, She was one of 69 varsity girls’ competing in the event. Esmerelda Ervin and Delila Crain both ran their way into the top 30. Ervin was 26th overall, while Crain took 29th. Other GHS runners doing well included Kayla Falco (37) and Mariella Rodriquez (45th). Virginia Bivens, Alina Torres, Kyndall Scitern, Emma De La Cruz and Jessica Solis also ran for Gorman. Triston George led the Panthers’ efforts by placing 14th in the varsity boys’ race. Gorman will return to the trails later this week when they compete in the Stephenville Invitational. The meet will be held in the Stephenville City Park, beginning at 9 a.m.
