The capital letters are still up, thank goodnessthe old girl is still alive...which I came home to learn and boy-howdy was I glad to see the Theatre name was still up reminding folks like me that the old girl is alive and well--and moving forward, so we can all be proud.

Busy as some of us were with “healing” and getting our feet back on solid ground-- to learn that the famous Lyric Theatre on the west side of the square is not only alive, but kicking and raring to go...

My, that’s the theatre where I saw GONE WITH THE WIND for the first time... what a glorious history-- there’s a photo in a safe of the day on which the late great Bill Bradley is shown handing “the keys to the Lyric to the late Gaynell and I... what a history--now I learn that a body of citizens are busy, busy putting together plans for the old building.
