Macie Hood scored 13 points in the final 16 minutes and Jacie Darr added six more on Friday and powered the Eastland Lady Mavericks to an important victory over the Dublin Lady Lions.
With the win, the Lady Mavericks moved to 4-3 in district play and, more important, climbed into a tie for third in the District 8-2A standings with Breckenridge.
The Lady Mavericks, who also picked up solid outings from April Hobbs and Kaylin Smith, jumped on top quickly. They outscored Dublin by a 19-14 clip in the first eight minutes and never looked back.
