Sandy Hazelip & Ellie Hamby, at 81 years old, flew out of Dallas, Texas on January 11th for their long planned World Tour: Around the World at 80; visiting all 7 continents, in 80 days. This trip was inspired by the movie, “Around the World in 80 Days.”
Dr. Sandy, as most in our area know her, still serves those at Hospice of the Big Country. Ellie directs the Zambia Medical Mission. The ladies have been planning this trip for 5 years and planned on going last year but with Covid 19 restrictions it was delayed till this year.
Dr. Sandy reported from Antartica: “We are now on our way to King George Island. We will travel most of the night to get to there... hopefully in calmer seas. We fly out in the morning, on a chartered plane, to Punta Arenas Chile (weather permitting).”
