High School football teams from throughout Eastland County will make their final preseason adjustments this weekend when they hold their final scrimmages. Preseason football outings will be held Thursday and Friday.
The Mavericks, who are coming off a solid showing in a preseason outing against Tolar this past week, will be among the first teams to complete the preseason. The Mavericks will travel to Coleman for a junior varsity and varsity matchup with the Coleman Bluecats.
In Coleman, Eastland will be facing making its second outing against a squad that played in the 2022 postseason. The Bluecats return several key players from a squad that went to the second round of the Class 2A postseason a year ago.
