Colorado City’s Jesse Rivera had never heard of Kase Kirkland prior to the West Texas Rural Youth Football League’s season opener on Saturday at Wolf Stadium.
He plans on helping everyone else know the former Eastland player this fall.
Rivera, a fifth-grader at Colorado Elementary School joined the rest of the WTRYFL teams in adorning their helmets with stickers in honor of Kirkland, who died earlier this summer in an ATV accident in Eastland County.
