Walter “Pete” Morrison Robertson, 84 years of age entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 24, 2023 in Tyler, Texas.
Pete was born on July 15,1939 in Longview TX to parents Jessie Crosby “J.C.” Morrison and May Bee Smithart Morrison.
On January 4,1946, a tornado struck their community near Palestine, Texas killing Pete’s parents, little brother Charles Ray and Uncle Homer Morrison. Pete survived and was adopted by his aunt Bernice who raised him. He graduated Palestine High School in 1956 and enlisted in the Navy, honorably discharged after serving 4 years. While in the Navy, he completed 2 years of college course credit. His time in the Navy took him to California where he was introduced to Norma Lee Maddux and they later married in Hawaiian Gardens, California on January 3, 1959.
