The Eastland Mavericks knew heading into their final regular season game against rival Comanche knowing they were in the postseason mix regardless whether they won or lost. They just didn’t know who they would face in the Class 3A bi-district round.
They do now.
Thanks to a 46-7 loss to Comanche on Friday, the Mavericks finished fourth in the District 5-3A race. That finish cinched a first-round showdown with longtime rival Holliday this Thursday. The playoff matchup will be played at 7:30 p.m. at Ram Stadium in Mineral Wells.
