An hispanic male with an immigration detainer was arrested by Cisco Police Officer Edgar Sanchez on January 24, 2023 after he was apprehended inside a local residence. 35 year old Agustin Martinez Lerma broke into the Cisco home at around 8:00 a.m. The home owner was inside at the time and notified 911 and a nearby neighbor for help. Police surrounded the house and Officer Sanchez took him into custody a short time later. Lerma also possessed fake identification and was booked into jail for 2nd Degree Felony Burglary of a Habitation and Class A Misdemeanor Possession of False Identification.

Chief of Police Kenneth Preston stated, “The neighbor acted like any of us would hope a neighbor would and most likely prevented further crimes from being committed”.
