The Retired Teachers of Eastland County (ECRTA) wish to thank all of the voters, who supported Proposition 9. This Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) happened for the first time in about twenty years. We are very grateful to our Texas House Representative David Spillers and others in the Texas Legislature, who supported this effort. We all appreciate Mr. H.V. O'Brien and the local editors, who published articles in support of Proposition 9. As you know, retired teachers enjoy giving some time back to the community through volunteer hours, and they like to support other community projects. I am sure the teachers will be spending some dollars locally, too! Ruth Stewart
