The Eastland Mavericks had plenty of fireworks to be pleased about last Tuesday as they closed out the 2023 portion of their high school basketball schedule.

The Eastland Mavericks had plenty of fireworks to be pleased about last Tuesday as they closed out the 2023 portion of their high school basketball schedule.

Unfortunately for the Mavericks, so did Glen Rose.

Glen Rose, despite double-digit performances from Grady Galyean, Isaiah Hays and Laike Kennedy, pieced together an 18-11 run in the third quarter and then held on to claim an 81-61 comefrom- behind victory in Eastland’s non-district finale. Glen Rose trailed by two early in the second quarter when Galyean and Hays keyed a 6-1 run and powered the Mavs to a 22-20 advantage.
