The Eastland Mavericks more than flexed their muscle last week by upending rival Breckenridge and Comanche on Friday in key District 8-3A matchups.
With the wins, Eastland moved to 10-8 for the year and, more importantly, climbed into a tie with Brock for the top spot in the district race. Both Eastland and Brock entered the week at 3-0.
Laike Kennedy led Eastland to a thrilling 4846 win over Breckenridge.
