Burr!!!!!!!!!! I am certainly glad last week is over and hope we don’t have any more weather that cold. Although, I’m sure the soaking our area received will certainly help our farmers and ranchers. Our patio looked like an ice-skating rink, but I didn’t try it out. I don’t bounce as well as I used too.
There was a special called Commissioners meeting to address the consideration of a contract with Eastland County to provide our local law enforcement. The contract was approved. It is the intention of the Commission for this arrangement to provide much better police services to our town. I hope everyone has noticed the presence of the deputies in town over the last month. Not only are we getting highway six patrolled regularly as is the entire town, and businesses are periodically being checked at night, and their hours are being varied so that it cannot be predicted when and where the deputies will be. Regardless of that, whenever you have an emergency, you need to call 911 and dispatch will contact the officer that is on duty here or dispatch another. Remember the non-emergency number for dispatch is 734-2730. We do have 24/7 protection!
