Late surge lifts Lady Mavs past Breckenridge

For the better part of three quarters, the Breckenridge Lady Buckaroos did their best impersonation of a Michael Moorer. The punched, juked and fought their way to within striking distance of the Eastland Lady Mavericks in a key District 8-3A showdown in the EHS gym.

Then, in the fourth, the Lady Mavericks turned into George Foreman and knocked them out.

Leading by seven with just over 4:20 left in regulation, Mya Wesley and Ana Cunningham spearheaded a 17-0 run that all but floored Breckenridge and sent Eastland to a 77-56 victory.
