Fatal Vehicle Crash south of Rising Star

A one vehicle crash on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 5:59 A.M. killed the driver, Teresa Kay Kling, 58 years of age, female from Boyd, Texas. The crash occurred in Brown County on US Highway 183, 2.1 miles south of Rising Star, Texas. Ms. Kling was driving a 2020 Toyota, 4-runner sports utility vehicle and was wearing a seatbelt. J.R. Ford. Preliminary investigation revealed that Vehicle 1 was traveling south on US Highway 183 (US 183). The roadway was wet and had patches of hail on the roadway. The driver of Vehicle 1 lost control of the vehicle due to operating at an unsafe speed for the roadway conditions and drove off the west side of the roadway. Vehicle 1 overturned numerous times coming to rest on County Road 496.

The vehicle accident was investigated by Trooper Tyler C. Moses, Texas Highway Patrol - Coleman, assisted by Trooper Rachel Price, Texas Highway Patrol Comanche, Deputies of the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.
