The Eastland County Retired Teachers Association met Monday, Feb 12, 2024, for their annual fundraiser to provide scholarships to Cisco College or Range College for 5 students in Eastland County School Districts. These Districts include Cisco, Eastland, Ranger, Rising Star, and Gorman.
Lee Yaddow, auctioneer and former educator from Merkel; and his wife Jenny, traveled to Cisco Methodist Church to give of their time for this worthy project. Including the many items donated for the auction were two $75. Gift cer- tificates to Mae's Meat Market, baked goods, and various treasures and useful items.
The Scholarship dinner was hosted by Harryette Purvis and Ruth Stewart. The delicious casseroles and desserts were enjoyed by all at the Cisco Methodist Church.
