A collision last Thursday on Farm to Market Road 2214 (FM 2214) and County Road 237 (CR 237), 7 miles southeast of Eastland, killed Mark Allen Jewett, a 61 years of age male from Waseca, Minnesota. He was driving a 1985 Honda, VT 700 motorcycle. Jewett was pronounced dead on scene of the crash at 4:58 P.M. by Justice of the Peace, Jon Glenn.
Jewett’s motorcycle collided with a 2024 Ford, F250 pickup truck driven by Terry Lee Rose, a 49 years of age male from Eastland, Texas.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Vehicle 1 - Ford Pickup truck was traveling south on FM 2214 approaching County Road 237 (CR 237). Vehicle 2 - Honda motorcycle - was traveling north on FM 2214 approaching CR 237. The driver of Vehicle 1 failed to yield the right of way turning left onto CR 237 striking Vehicle 2.
