Bird shatters another School Record as Lady Mavs roll

records is becoming a common thing for Lily Bird.

Bird shattered her second school record in as many weeks on March 7 when she broke the Eastland Lady Mavericks’ long-standing mark in the 1,600-meter run with a stellar effort at the Cisco Relays.

A junior, Bird bettered the school’s former mark by more than 3 seconds in the race. Her time of 5 minutes, 42.48 easily broke the school record set by Jenna Simmel more than 15 years earlier.
