Gorman boys’girls spring to runner-up honors at District 19-A track meet

The Gordon Lady Longhorns nailed down the team championship at the District 19-A Track and Field Championships on April 1 at Bob and Norma Cervetto Stadium in Dublin – barely.

Gordon rolled up 164 points in the meet and edged out rival Gorman by one point in the final standings. The Lady Panthers, who earned 15 berths in the Area track meet, completed the meet with 163 points. Strawn was a distant third with 100 points.

Delina Crain and Hadli Hampton highlighted Gorman’s efforts. Crain nailed down the girls’ district high jump title in the high jump and triple jump. In the high jump, she cleared 5 feet.
