By Vance O’Brien Eastland City Commissioners met in regular session at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 15th with two Commissioners present and City Manager Larry Vernon and Manager J.J. Oznick presiding. Invocation was given by Richard Rossander with pledges led by Shirley Stuart.
Public comment consisted of Lisa Benson of Beard’s downtown restaurant suggesting that there is a need to elevate housing scrutiny of rental properties (residential), starting with landlords who might should register with a central database.
Lauran O’Connor commented on need to improve appearance/ attractiveness of the downtown surrounding the restaurant of which she is a partner.
