Tx Comptroller distribute $1.2 Billion in Monthly Sales Tax Revenue

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.2 billion in local sales tax allocations for May, 0.4 percent more than in May 2023.

These allocations are based on sales made in March by businesses that report tax monthly and sales made in January, February and March by quar- terly filers.

Gorman’s sales tax revenue’s net payment this period is $18,398.10. Compared to the prior year’s payment of $21,471.34, a - 14.31% change. The year to date payment of $96,833.78, however, compared to last year’s ytd payment of $82,070.10, shows a 17.98% positive rate change. Gorman’s sales tax revenue allocation rate is 2.000%.
