At City Meeting: Eastland Fire Dept. Reimbursed For Compound Fire
By Vance O’Brien The meeting of the Eastland City Commissioners on May 20th at 6 p.m. in regular session was called to order by Mayor Larry Vernon and Invocation given by Manager JJ Oznick, with pledge given by Mayor Vernon.
Following was public comment by Ms Conner of Beard’s downtown restaurant saying that she was co-owner of the now-sold establishment, to former resident’s of Eastland. Her wish is for the city to take active role in establishing and maintaining downtown businesses. Then Lisa Benton, developer of residential single-family residences stated that she is interested in the city establishing residential standards for real estate development. Benton stated that such codes existed already.
