Royce Lee Parsley

Royce Lee Parsley of Cisco passed away Monday, July 15, 2024, at 90 years of age.

Royce was born October 13,1933 in Comanche County to Daniel Everett and Esther Lee Doggett Parsley. He attended Comyn High School and later served in the United States Army during the Korean War Era. He retired after 30 years and 3 days (his words) from Southwestern Bell and was self-employed for another 15 years as a “Jack of all Trades”. He married Darlene Ratliff June 6th, 1955, and they were married 69 years. Royce’s hobbies included collecting aluminum cans for donation to Cisco Church of Christ and constant phone calls to friends! After Retirement Royce and Darlene traveled extensively throughout the United States.He always had a vegetable garden and enjoyed working with (but not on) his tractor. In his later years, he thoroughly enjoyed watching TV westerns and the hummingbirds on the front porch.Royce was a hard-working man and a friend to many. He never met a stranger. He enjoyed his coffee buddies at the Dairy Queen. He was generous with his family and church family alike, offering his services on a regular basis. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, as well as helping to raise two of his granddaughters after the loss of their mother. He was a true servant of the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents Esther and Everett Parsley; brother Luther Parsley and wife Katherine; sister Marselle Cain and husband Carl; brother Benny Parsley and wife Mary; brother-in-law El Allcock; son Ronnie Parsley and wife Janet.

Survivors include his wife Darlene of Cisco; children Randal and Jami Parsley of Cisco, Gary and Sandra Parsley of Greenwood, Sharon Parsley of Lewisville; grandchildren Matt and Christina Parsley, Jared and Christie Parsley, Jessi and Patrick Nichols, Kaitlin and Grant Cary, Kendra and Kyle Moore, Stefan Parsley, Kelsey and Jaron Sparks, Derick Parsley; 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and sister Letha Allcock.

Services were held Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Cisco Church of Christ. Burial was at Hanson Cemetery in Comanche County.In Lieu of Flowers please send a donation to Rising Star Nursing Facility or Cisco Church of Christ.
