Cisco Writers Club holds Awards Ceremony

By Linda Spetter Robert Robeson was announced as the winner of the David Autry Sweepstakes at the awards ceremony of the Cisco Writing Club’s 48th annual Writing Contest Thursday night.

Ruth York, Club Treasurer and Contest Director, announced the winners at the Myrtle Wilks Community Center. Robeson, of Lincoln, Nebraska, won the grand prize by accumulating the most points in several contest categories. The sweepstakes award is sponsored by Cisco College.

“It’s not just the ‘winners’ who should be congratulated,” Mrs. York said. “Every person who completed and revised and polished their story, who followed our rules, who gathered up the courage to put their ‘baby’ out there for others to see – you’re a winner, too.”
