Second-half surge lifts Indians past Mavs

By Tommy Wells The Comanche Indians scored 22 points in the second half on Friday night and claimed a tough 36-14 victory over the Eastland Mavericks in non-district football action.

With the loss, Eastland fell to 2-1 heading into this weekend’s showdown with longtime rival Breckenridge.

Comanche, a former district stablemate of the Mavs, grabbed the early lead. The Indians scored on a pass midway through the first quarter and took a 7-0 lead.
