Wanda Lee Payne, 85, of Cisco passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024.
Wanda was born in Cisco to Richard Stephan and Bessie Lee (Hunt) Rogers on July 15, 1939. She married David Larry Payne on August 7, 1954 at Bible Baptist Church in Cisco and they were happily wed for 65 years until his passing in 2019.
Wanda had many jobs through the years, but was a cook at Baptist Christian Day Schools in Midland for Bro. R.S. Day for many years. After returning to Cisco in 1980, she worked in Bill and Nelda Gary’s office and for her beloved cousin Roy Rogers and his wife Dene at Dene’s Water Hauling. Wanda was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.
