Those who gathered at Cisco Methodist Church Monday, November 11, 2024 at 11:30 experienced a display of delicious casseroles, salads, rolls, and tea. An added delight was a taste of Ruth winning pineapple pie; her original pie was entered in the Cisco Pie Fest recently.
Timely and informative topics are always on the menu, too , at retired teachers meetings. Sharon Dougherty, Representative of the State Legislative Committee from District 14 of Texas Retired Teachers Association spoke of the work of the Texas Legislature regarding retired teachers. Representing these teacher’s organizations, Ms. Dougherty and others, address the legislators regarding the maintaining of the teachers pension fund, maintaining and protecting healthcare, and securing Mrs. Dougherty reported that Texas may have the largest number of retired teachers organizations in the United States.
