Late surge lifts Tolar past Mavs
By Tommy Wells The Tolar Rattlers pieced together an 18-8 run in the final eight minutes of play on Friday and eked out a tough 60-39 victory over the Eastland Mavericks in District 6-3A action in the Marshall Gym.
With the loss, the Mavericks slipped 1-8 in district. Cameron Wilson and Kye Schuman provided the offense for Eastland in the final eight minutes. After Schuman had scored two times from the field early in the period, Wilson closed out the Mavs’ scoring with a free throw and a three-point bomb from the wing.
