By Tommy Wells Ana Cunningham got the look she wanted with time running out in the Eastland Lady Mavericks bi-district playoff showdown against the Wichita Falls City View Lady Mustangs. She took the inbounds, dribbled and lofted a long three-pointer. Cunningham’s last-second shot rimmed out and enabled City View to escape the Graham High School gym with a 49-47 victory in front of a large crowd.
With the win, CityView will advance to the area round of the postseason. The Lady Mavericks, the No. 3 seed from the District 8-3A race, close out their 2024-25 season at 13-15.
Cunningham caught City View’s attention early in the showdown. The senior guard ripped the Lady minutes and led the Lady Mavs to a 16-12 lead at the start of the second period.
