Zac Mazey Brings Many Skills To Top Safety Job at Cisco College

Zac Mazey has completed his first year as Director of Campus Safety at Cisco College. His job entails being the Chief of Police of the college as well as Chief of Security. He heads a staff of 8.

In the past he has been a Marine, wrestler, boxer, rugby player, rugby coach, counselor, sheriff’s deputy, and police officer.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, his family moved to Maine and then the Boston metro area when he was a child. “Most people think I’m a city boy because of that. I’m actually half-hillbilly. I can play a mean jug and a washboard.” After high school he joined the Marines and found himself at Fort Bragg with his unit in 2001 when 911 occurred. On that morning, “we were doing joint services training several different U.S. Army units. The gunnery sergeant comes out and says you guys might want to put your duds back on, we’re going to be here a while. Just saw that terrorists flew a plane into some big old building in New York, so the country is being attacked.”
